Fire Marshal Carl Peas of Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department shared the following fire safety tips with us:
Make sure your Christmas tree is secure. Place your Christmas tree away from heat sources such as as fireplaces, space heaters and candles.
Inspect holiday lights each year before you put them up. Throw away light strands with prayed or finched wires.
If using a live Christmas tree, water the tree daily. A dry tree is a dangerous tree and could possible catch fire.
